the original James Bonds. I mean the games , on ps2 we had Everything or Nothing , Nightfire , Agent under fire etc. Those games were awesome. Have they just died? everyone we seem to get now is a shitty movie tie in.

Quantum of Solace was a terrible game. It absolutely butchered the plot of both films, both of which lended themselves very well to video game material. The graphics were shocking, were talking PS2 era, with dead eyed characters and shoddy textures. The cover mechanic was broken, as was the shooting mechanic. The combat system was shite, ooh yeah simple quick time events and no proper combat. And no driving? WTF!!!! Quantum of Solace had a great car chase at the beginning and that would have made a great car chase at the beginning. Not to mention they got so many continuity errors in the game and half of the levels were missing (where is the plane chase, the palio, the boat chase, and why the f^%& was the toscan level done incorreclty? Grrrrrr!! Not to mention the game should have been third person, Uncharted style. Everything or Nothing, as flawed a game that was, proved that Bond deserves third person. For such a physical character, it doesnt work in first person. The african rundown chase would have been superb if they had done it properly (ie how it was in the film) and in third person. So a big F You to Treyarch. You suck balls! And I hope Bizarre Creation's Driving focused game is miles (no pun intended) better.

Lol who cares about graphics? I play games for fun, I had fun playing that game.. I don't play games to go "Oh wow, those graphics are improving on the older games" hell some N64 games are still better than this gen's games in fun factor.
It's not all about visuals.

The problem was Quantum of Solace is not fun to play. Its shooting mechanics are basic at best with a tacked on cover system that half works.
And on the subject of Visuals, Quantum of Solace uses the call of duy 4 engine, which as we know, provides high end graphics. C0D4 came out a year before QoS and that looks 10 times better. So clearly someone in the Bond team at treyarch wasnt trying. Ironic, concidering the company also made COD World at War the same year and that looked a lot better than QoS.
So:
Terrible Gameplay + Dissapointing Graphics = Quantum of Solace

I don't think they can get back what they are now.... The older bond games where good then started to go downhill. I think they work best if they have there own story with a good plot. Or a good tie in So far not many have I would love to see a new game not based on a movie tbh

I fully agree, the latest Bond Games have lost their magic.
Quantum of Solace was only good because it used MW's engine. Apart from that, it wasn't all that great in my opinion. Online was another epic fail on Treyarch's behalf. That auto matic shotgun has MP40 all over it. I mean come on.... learn from your mistakes!
I think the old games were a lot more fun, more gadgets than guns, in comparison to the latest Bond games. Also, the multiplayer was fun. I loved playing splitscreen with my friend. There was one game where you could be Obb Job and throw your hat, I believe it was the same game where you could control mini helicopters. It was just so much fun! Whoever developers for the next Bond game should take a look back and try and recreate something wonderful rather than an 'ok' game that will sell jue to having Bond slapped on the case. This is the thing with all movie tie-ins though. It mainly sells due to having the film name on it, also with everyone loving the film they then think "Oh wow, let me re-live this experience by buying the game!" in their moment of over excited weakness.

Nightfire, now there's a game. It seemed so disliked back in its day though, I personally couldn't get enough of it. Multiplayer with friends was sheer awesomeness, with low gravity and increased speed - it made for a highly nerve racking and fun experience.
Goldeneye used the same kind of game-play and using two pistols at the same time to blow a bad guys nuts off - just never got old. Unfortunately Quantum of Solace didn't live up to it, I spent well over half the game playing Casino Royal for some reason. It had the potential to be a headliner yet just felt as though it was quickly done to come par with the release of the film. The issue (as stated above) wasn't the mechanics of the game, moreover the less amount of work put in to it. Huge chunks of the storyline were skipped which made the ending just one big pile of unemotional Canadian dog poop (don't ask why its canadian), many scenes that were in the film which could have made for some great gameplay were just cut out and forgotten about. Other scenes that wern't in the movie and infact didn't even come close to the storyline were placed instead. After that, anyone who did watch the film found the game very very confusing.
Remember playing 'Tomorrow Never Dies' on Ps1? (Ah those were the days) Even that had "Casino of Solace" (Yeah alright bad liner xD) beat hands down in my opinion.

To add to my post and update this topic with more posts on discussion.
Activision is working on a new James Bond video game project which will be based on racing. A title described as "Mario Karts meets Forza," was previously thought to be the new 007 game, but was later revealed to be Blur[9] developed by Bizarre Creations in Liverpool. Another game, which has been described as a third-person shooter with driving elements, set to star Adam Croasdell as James Bond is expected to be released sometime in 2010.
This was from wiki, if this is wrong dnt shoot me. You could also blame Activision for the lack of development think 2008 was the last game lol Quantum of Solace, wich is same game engine as MW pointed out earlier by cartmen56.

saying that Medal of Honor is not much now due to cod lol Cods not much now either MW2 was terrible and seeing as the whole CODGATE this is going on at the moment I think Activision will end up trampling the franchise to death for profit purposes. MW2 was never meant to be made , infinity ward wanted to do something new however due to pressure from Bobby the dick it was made. I hope Medal of Honour beats MW to the ground.
