Its most likely them just expanding (go Valve!) although I wouldn't be surprised if they are branching out to hit the ps3 market, which is probably a good thing as it would mean more money for valve and thus more amazing games! As long as no resources are moved from pc development id be happy as I'm fed up of companies forgetting the pc market even though that particular company started up on pc.

I don't think valve have any intention of going to the PS3. They've said that portal 2 is only going to be xbox and pc. But it would be nice if they did.

Playstation architecture is completely different from a pc's and an xbox's so I dont think Valve will ever go near a PS3.

I think I may have spoken a bit hastily in my earlier post, a bit of digging is suggesting that valve are only going to port to the PS3 when they have the staff to do it, The orange box was outsourced to EA and that's why it's 16 (I think) below the X-box and PC version on metacritic, (not that I set anything in store by that website.) So it's possible that in the future with some more staff we could be playing Left 4 dead 3 on the PS3.

I doubt Valve will try hard to get their stuff on the PS3, as what I have seen of the 360 stuff seems more like ports, and rubbish ones at that compared to the pc versions. Which makes sense as Valve make the games for the PC and thus the controls and game are built around the capabilities of PCs and not consoles. Which is a nice change for me in the current climate.
