When Wanted was released into cinema’s worldwide with the astonishing methods of being able to curve bullets, use rats as explosives and the never ending sexyness of Angelina Jolie the anticipation of this becoming a game for me was high priority. On the games release I was swayed on buying it or not, and chose the stupid option of not buying it at release, down the time of Call of Duty 4 taking over my life. Trailer:

Recently after signing up to LoveFilm the hassle of getting games you wouldn’t actually purchase is top notch but this title was a must buy for me personally. Considering how old the game is compared to some games at present this has to be one of my favourite titles, down to the simple factor of curving bullets and watching it kill your enemies.
The game itself has aspects of Max Payne with the slow mo running to cover, the enjoyment of using explosive bullets to kill enemies and a very good cover system that allows the player to flank enemies with ease. Wanted is not based around the hollywood blockbuster giving both a fresh storyline and excitement on how things will pan out. The main part of the story without revealing anything is you are trying to find out why you both being hunted down by French Swat like police and who killed your mother. During the game you play as both Wesley and Cross [Your father] adding both an element of present day and past in the attempts of unraveling the truth.
While playing the game you get hold of the controls much faster and how the AI works with the addition of extra skills like “Addrenaline Rush” which is moving from cover in slow mo, also “Curving Bullets” which at the start of the game you don’t actually get. The game itself is polished well and looks fantastic the cutscenes are short and sweet but on occassions are a little lengthy.
The parts of which you find yourself having to shoot enemies and their bullets in slow motion is one of the best parts, i loved the idea of mixing up the gameplay from slow mo, to run and gun [on occassions] to then using the cover system. While playing some levels, you will usually towards the end/near the middle use a sniper rifle that doesn’t need to be reloaded at anytime, the snipering is fun but lasts no time at all.
The game itself is rather short depending on your desired difficulty and aim in the game, if you just want to play through and complete the gane the life span is extremely short but if you were like me a trophy/achievements whore then the game can last alot longer. On completing the game on Assassin you unlock Killer Mode which is a harder difficulty, once completing this you unlock Time Trial mode. Completing levels and earning collectibales in the game unlocks characters playable in the game.
So to round things of there are 9 acts starting of short and sweet to those towards the end lasting a fair bit the limited use of guns doesn’t matter due to the amazing skill of curving bullets and using a close combat attack, which trust me is epic the 1st time you do it.
In my opinion this game is worth the purchase the action, blood, slow mos, boss battles, explosions and the thrill of adrenaline makes this game unique and alot of fun.
I give this game An almost epic 8/10
This game can be picked up really cheap at the moment; Most places for under £25.
